It is with great sadness that I share news of the passing of State Representative Ann-Margaret Ferrante.
Ann-Margaret dedicated her life to serving our community, and her impact will be felt in Gloucester for generations to come. From advocating for our working waterfront and protecting our fishing industry to standing up for the people of Gloucester at every turn — she never stopped fighting for us. Her leadership helped shape the future of our city, and her voice was one we trusted and relied on.
I am grateful to have known Ann-Margaret for so many years. Beyond her public service, she was an incredible person — steadfast, compassionate, and committed to the place she loved. Our city has lost a true friend and champion.
Out of respect and in her honor, I have ordered all flags to be lowered to half-staff.
My thoughts are with her family, her friends, and everyone who had the privilege of working alongside her. May her memory continue to guide and inspire us.
