San Pietro il Pescatore! Chi meglio di lui, nell’immaginario religioso-popolare, può legarsi al ciclo e all’abbondanza della pesca e alla vita dura e rischiosa del pescatore?
Festa propiziatrice e di ringraziamento insieme, coinvolge un po’ tutte le marinerie dell’Isola, ed in particolare quella di Terrasini, ove la tradizione si mantiene ancora salda.
Il suo svolgimento, fra il 27 e il 29 giugno (giorno del Santo), assume una particolare suggestione per la processione delle barche incolonnate dietro al Santo ben saldo sulla prua della barca capofila.
Seguono la messa, i giochi vari tradizionali (l’antinna a mare) e la grande padellata di pesce azzurro (frittura del pescato) al porto.
Questi eventi, facenti parte della tradizione, mantenuta negli anni dall’Amministrazione Comunale in collaborazione con il Comitato organizzatore e con la Pro Loco, oggi sono di grande richiamo turistico, coinvolgendo oltre che i pescatori, anche esperti del settore ittico-gastronomico e ristoratori provenienti anche dall’estero.
